Avatar Comics

After more than a decade, James Cameron’s franchise returns to the big screen with Avatar: The Way of Water.
However, while we expected, we could enjoy a lot of franchise-based comics, published by Dark Horse.

In the 2015 New York Comic, James Cameron revealed through a video message his 10-year association agreement with Dark Horse to publish a series of comics with events that happen before, during and after the events of the events of the
2009 film. Here are all comics in order.
Adapt or die (2022): It is a series of six numbers written by Corinne Echo that serves as a prequel to the first film and explores the initial relationship between the omaticaya clan and the GDR.
He does it focusing on Grace Augustine and the establishment of his school.
The year in which the comic is developed is not clear, but it should be between the end of the 2130 and early 2140s, since when the school closed in 2152, in the film, Grace mentions that he invested a decade of
His life at school.

Avatar

  • Touted Road (2019): It is a miniseries of six numbers written by Sherri L. Smith and focuses, as indicated by the title, in Touted.
    This miniseries runs during the events of the first film and develops certain aspects to which it is only alluded to.
  • Brothers (2017): It is Avatar’s first comic, an independent number written by Sherri L. Smith that was launched as a special edition to coincide with the 2017 free comic day event. This comic also takes place during the events during the events
    From the first film and looks like an exclusive scene, since it shows Jake Sully preparing for the final battle in the Pandora War while remembering his brother and his stories.
  • The next shadow (2021): It is a miniseries of four numbers written by Jeremy Barlow and the first official continuation of the first film events.
    Set two weeks later, it shows the conflict within the Omaticaya clan after Jake’s rise to leadership, which leads to a Jake murder attempt by Touted’s family.
    As such, it serves as a prequel to the second Avatar movie.
  • The elevated land (2022): It is a miniseries of three numbers written by Sherri L. Smith, set 14 years after the events of the first film and the comic The New Shadow.
    This series is based on James Cameron’s original script to Avatar: The Way of Water, before the rewriting.
