Sony already knows that many of you will not get PS5 again by 2023

We have reported far-reaching about the scarcity of PS5 consoles since the release. According to Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, the console should even remain in short supply until 2024, as there is production difficulties through resource shortage.

No wonder that Sony missed his set sales destination in the fiscal year 2021. Instead of the 14.8 million console units sold, the company sold only 11.5 million PS5 consoles. This makes a difference of over 3 million units that have not been delivered. But still Sony is now greater goals.

PS5 sales figures increase by 56 percent

What plans Sony? During the quarterly conference call for investors and analysts, CFO Hiroki revealed the plans. For the next fiscal year, i.e. from April 2022 to March 2023, Sony wants to drastically increase sales despite continuing resource shortage and the missed sales destination for fiscal year 2021.

According to this, around 18 million PS5 consoles are to hike over the counter in the 2022 fiscal year. Sony is even sure to reach the sales target. Totoki stated that Sony is very conservative due to the current delivery difficulties and only indicates the number in which the company is certain that they can also deliver it.

PS5 prospect continues to go away empty-handed

Although Sony takes an optimistic path with his numbers, the company dampens the mood. Totoki is certain that the demand for PS5 consoles cannot be covered despite high quantities. Sony’s stocks are very low, which creates a gap to consoles.
